From the 2×4 Boot to its Reebok Pump Omni Zone II collab, ever since it was founded in 2016, MSCHF has always been up to no good. World-renowned for taking traditional silhouettes and completely transforming them from the ground up, the Brooklyn-based art collective has now taken the wraps off of the MSCHF Flipped Flop. While these look like a classic pair of slides from a distance, as soon as you take a closer look, you’ll quickly realise that there’s so much more than meets the eye.
As its name already suggests, the Flipped Flop takes the, well, flip-flop, and flips its on its head to create the label’s first ever heel. Featuring a predominantly navy colour palette, it boasts a plush rubber construction that’s extremely comfortable and lightweight. Each shoe is basically made up of two slip-ons attached back-to-back, with the midpoint curving upwards to form a heel. It’s unlike anything else out there.
Across the top of each shoe, you’ll find a velcro strap that’s etched with “MSCHF” and a “Performance Sport” tagline. All of this is then packed in a special box that was designed exclusively for this limited edition release.
If you’re feeling experimental, the MSCHF Flipped Flop might just be what your collection is missing. Set to launch on July 30th, as with everything else by the New York City label, expect these to sell out in minutes, if not seconds.
