New Balance brings yet another classic shoe from the archives to give us even more lifestyle trainer options! If the NB 580 is not a familiar name to you, well, now you’ll learn more about this crep. This New Balance 580 “Grey” looks like a simple grey New Balance sneaker. But take a good look and you’ll see all the pre-distressed aesthetics! Giving the term “deadstock” a whole new meaning!
We all know that New Balance is rising in terms of popularity, so the brand looks for more reasons to keep it that way. After bringing back a bunch of rather forgotten models, we now have another returning silhouette. The New Balance 580 joins the calendar with pre-distressed designs on the minimalist upper.
No other region loved the New Balance 580 other than Japan. The shoe first came out in 1996 as the Japan-exclusive version of the Made in USA 585. It didn’t get the success it wanted, but then New Balance reintroduced the shoe in a wider market by 2008. The MT580 is an updated version of the shoe which still maintained the popular Rollbar torsional support system.
2022 collabs with various brands gave the 580 a new lease on life. This 2023, we see new general release colourways.
The New Balance 580 “Grey” features a grey airy mesh base with grey leather uppers. Navy blue accents appear on the N outline and heel panel – where we can also see pre-distressed aesthetics.
The rugged outsole also boasts an aged look with the ashy texture atop the navy blue sole.
You can cop this New Balance 580 colourway when it comes out this May 2023.
