An Official Look at the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Air Max Day”

With Air Max Day 2024 coming up just around the corner, Nike has taken the wraps off of its the latest tribute with the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Air Max Day.” Arriving a decade after the first Air Max 1 “Air Max Day” which featured the same sort of colourblocking, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of one of the sneaker game’s biggest events.

Working on top of a “White” mesh base, this Air Max 1 is overlaid by “Natural Grey” suede panels across the lateral and medial sidewalls, as well as the heel. A “Royal Blue” Swoosh glides across the upper, and this bold hue extends towards the mudguard section as well. It’s an almost one-to-one rendition of the original “Royal” that Tinker Hatfield introduced in the ’80s.

But, what makes this pair even more special is the “3.26” branding on the tongue that serves as a nod to the Air Max community and the annual festival. All of this then rests on top of a “Volt” midsole that, as mentioned before, has been swiped straight off of the first AMD AM1. However, unlike the first AMD AM1, this has been given the Big Bubble treatment, making it more comfortable than ever before.

With its thoughtful design details, vibrant colourway, and commemorative branding, this edition is set to be one of the hottest drops of the entire year. Dropping on March 26th, for your best chance to cop the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Air Max Day,” be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps!
