Air Max Excee
Can’t spell excel without Excee. The Nike Air Max Excee is another addition to the ever-growing roster of Nike Air Max models. This time it’s a budget-friendly lifestyle shoe that modernises the classic Air Max 90.
The arrival of Air Max technology in 1987 revolutionised both Nike’s future as well as the shape of performance trainers. Allowing users to see and see through the cushioning system ensures that people get what they pay for and know that it actually works. Unlike encased Air units, Air Max is exposed, providing more bounce and impact protection for sports and even daily life.
The Air Max 1 pioneered Air Max in running trainers, but Tinker Hatfield one-upped his masterpiece with the Nike Air Max 90. That’s exactly what Nike had in mind when they introduced the Nike Air Max Excee. This new model from Nike debuted in 2020 – 30 years since the then Nike Air Max III graced the sneaker world.
But the Air Max Excee isn’t your ordinary tribute shoe. It has attributes of its own that are enough to give it a new identity; few Air Max 90 design cues can be seen, but that’s about it. This new Air Max model will give you an updated look, and at the same time, provide you with that beloved comfort that we’ve gotten accustomed to with most Air Max shoes.
Featuring a lightweight perforated mesh upper, the stitched synthetic leather overlays run along the toe, midfoot panel, and the heel panel for added durability. Elongated lines and distorted proportions give the classic 90s design ethos a much needed update. Swoosh logos on the sides return in typical fashion.
The highlight of the shoe comes in the form of the Air Max technology. Similar to the Air Max 90 and other Air Max models, soft foam makes up the forefoot area. While a visible Air Max unit in the heel comes encased with rubber for stability. A huge “Air Max” label just above the Air Max unit appears in a familiar approach.
On the outsole, Nike’s classic waffle traction pattern graces the forefoot. While a multidirectional blade traction pattern completes the heel section.
Currently one of the most popular models from Nike, these sneakers are suitable for all ages! They’re perfect for your Air Max rotation if you’re looking for a new sneaker that can give your AM90s a rest.
