If comfort is your priority when shopping for a new shoe, then the Air Presto has you covered! This running-turned-lifestyle shoe is a mainstay pair due to the unending demand from consumers. No wonder we continue to see new pairs arriving in stores apart from the usual returning styles.
There was another Hatfield in Nike’s roster of footwear designers. That’s right, Tinker’s brother Tobie Hatfield is the man responsible for the Nike Air Presto. Safe to say, both siblings are legends when it comes to creating new sneakers!
The shoe originally came out in 2000 and marketed as a running shoe. Unlike the Huarache, Prestos prove much lighter and have a more ventilated upper. This is because the shoe features a lightweight mesh base and a neoprene tongue. Both fabrics are soft, adding to the overall comfort.
The TPU lace cage serves as the main source of support and keeps the lightweight structure intact. It also acts as the heel counter. A rubber toe cap reinforces high-wear zones on the forefoot and protects the foot.
The soft foam midsole houses a Nike Air unit for additional comfort.
What made the Presto different from all the other shoes is that the sizing is based on apparel. The sizes range from XXS to XL. S (Small sizes) match sizes 9 – 10 in Men’s sizing and so on.
This sizing system helps you adjust your size depending on your preference. One thing is for sure: it’s comfortable when you get the right fit!
The Nike Air Presto remains a classic lifestyle shoe. Its easy sock-like slip-on upper ensures you won’t have to worry about heel slips.
Aside from the extremely limited Off-White collab, the Nike Air Presto has a lot of awesome colourways. This includes general release styles coming with graphic prints on the mesh upper.
