Lunar Gato

The Gato boasts a storied heritage, initially conceived as an indoor soccer footwear option before firmly establishing its presence in the realm of skateboarding. In the year 2011, Nike introduced the Nike5 Gato Street, a fusion of both functionality and fashion, characterized by its opulent suede and leather upper materials, adorned with embossed graphics, and fortified with an XDR rubber outsole, all while preserving the timeless aesthetics of a classic football shoe.

Fast forward to 2012, and Nike Sportswear underwent a remarkable transformation of the Gato into the opulent Woven Street Gato. This iteration boasted top-tier leather uppers meticulously woven in a basket-style pattern, ushering in an aura of refinement and sophistication within the Gato lineage.

Subsequently, in 2013, the Nike Lunar Gato II made its debut as an integral member of Nike Football’s FC247 collection, meticulously engineered to excel in speed, control, comfort, and precision across diverse court surfaces. It featured a notably lighter construction, a plush leather upper enhancing ball touch, an ergonomically contoured sock liner for a tailored fit, and robust lateral support achieved through the integration of fused mesh panels. Embracing the Lunar Gato for skateboarding, Nike SB infused it with Lunarlon technology, offering a cushioned ride and introduced a spectrum of colour schemes, including exclusive editions commemorating the 2014 World Cup. Collaborations with esteemed brands such as Poler Outdoor Stuff and Thrasher magazine further cemented the Lunar Gato’s indomitable presence within the skateboarding realm.
