Buttery Suede Features on the Nike Dunk Low “Waffle”

One of the coolest things about the Dunk Low is that it can literally be inspired by anything. From picnic blankets to red pandas and even traditional Chinese sweets, the old school basketball shoe is as versatile as they come. However, just when you thought that you had seen it all, the American sportswear company goes ahead and reveals the Nike Dunk Low “Waffle.”

While Nike could’ve just crafted this from leather and called it a day, it has gone above and beyond for this colourway. Working on top of a short-haired suede base, the sidewalls are decked out in a checked pattern that’s clearly inspired by the doughy delight that it’s based off of.

It’s then overlaid by tan leather panels, and contrasted by a creamy white Swoosh – like butter melting on top of a freshly-baked stack of waffles. Mmm.

This pattern extends towards the tongue tag, and all of this sits on top of a gum rubber midsole that’s as comfortable as it is grippy. It’s then finished off with custom insole branding that has been made exclusively for this delicious drop.

The Nike Dunk Low “Waffle” is a tasty nod to the most important meal of the day.
