First Look At The 2023 Nike Air Max 1 Shima Shima

We have another big news for Air Max fans this early in 2023! Rgw First images of the rare Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima” 2023 indicate a potential comeback. While the upcoming pair does not resemble the OG Shima Shima exaclty, this new style combines both colourways from 2003. Some may recall the Shima Shima pack consisting of the Air Max 1, Air Trainer 1, and Dunk High. The two Air Max 1 editions were regional exclusives only made available in Europe and Japan.

The Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima” 2023 already came out overseas, so we can almost definitely confirm the AM1 returning as well. In the meantime, let’s check out the rest of these first-look images courtesy of @long7ze and @xcmade.

The 2023 version features a White leather base with Grey midfoot nubuck overlays. This Grey panel resembles the Navy Blue version as the Brown pair had a Tan suede overlay.

Brown nubuck mudguard, Swoosh, laces, and plastic lace loop appear in their usual style.

Japanese-inspired labels on the tongue as well as the striped interior lining remain true to form.

Embroidered Nike Air labels on the heel also come in Brown to keep the consistency of the upper.

The Grey and Brown rubber outsole complete this hybrid design inspired by the two Shima Shima versions.

The Red Japanese fonts and striped interior are the main signature details on the two versions. We’re glad to see them back in 2023.

Fast forward to 2023, we can see that Nike combined both elements. We have no official release details yet and we’re not sure if Nike will make them regional exclusives just like the OG. But expect more information about the Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima” 2023 soon.
