First Look: Nike Air Max 1 “Woman’s Best Friend” DR2553-111

Great news, more fire Air Max 1’s are on the way! While the highly anticipated Air Max 1 pairs released back in March 2022 for Air Max Day; this new rendition highlights both the special day of March 26 but also highlights our furry friends, with a special dog-inspired theme.

The Nike Air Max 1 “Woman’s Best Friend” DR2553-111 pays tribute to dogs in some obvious and some more subtle ways. Unique details on the shoe make this women’s exclusive pair a great summer pair thanks to the Volt and Red combo! This and the upcoming Kasina collab are definitely must-cop pairs for us!

So far, Nike announced a confirmed release in Asia. While we wait for official release information in other regions, let’s check out the official photos of this new colourway.

Sail White hues make up the mesh on the vamp as well as the fur-like overlays on the midfoot and heel. Brown and Ivory comprise the alternating leather reinforcement on the lateral forefoot. Red covers the suede mudguard on the left pair and features White polka dots on the front; while a toned-down shade of Red appears on the rear portion with what seems to be snowflake patterns. The right pair features a Brown-like mudguard for an alternating look.

An embroidered Volt mini Swoosh on the forefoot complements the Volt inner lining and heel Air Max unit.

The most notable dog tribute aside from the fur is the dog bone shape on the top eyestay.

Furry fabrics comprise the tongue where a large Nike Air Max tag appears in alternating Red and Pink colours.

The sockliner features a grass graphic print as a nod to dog’s play parks. Nike Air and 3.26 labels appear on the heel.

We have no UK release date set for the Nike Air Max 1 “Woman’s Best Friend” as of writing. But stay tuned for more updates soon. If the Kasina Nike Air Max 1 are arriving here, it’s most likely these will come sometime in 2022 as well.
