The big brother joins the Nike Air Max 97’s 25th anniversary with a take on an OG Air Max 97 colourway. First found on the Nike Air Max 97, this Nike Air Max 90 “Atlantic Blue” boasts 90s runners vibes. The combination of Blue and Black with Volt accents showcases Nike’s revolutionary Air Max technology; headlining Nike’s running selections in the late 80s and the rest of the 90s. This new Air Max 90 colourway feels a lot like a throwback pair as a nod to the AM97.
We still have no confirmed release date for this amazing colourway, but expect it sometime in 2022! In the meantime, let’s check out the official photos of the Nike Air Max 90 “Atlantic Blue”.
The “Atlantic Blue” colour scheme deserves a place among iconic Nike Air Max colourways. It’s right up there along with the likes of the “Silver Bullet”, AM90’s “Infrared”, AM95’s “Neon”, and Air Max 1’s classic White and Red. What do these colourways have in common? An outstanding colour combination.
The Black mesh makes up the base of the shoe, with a Black leather mudguard for added durability. Atlantic Blue hues comprise the suede overlays on the upper, tongue, TPU heel panel, and foam midsole carrying the visible Air Max.
Hints of Grey adorn the TPU eyestays for additional aesthetic. Volt hues appear on the interior tongue padding, Nike Air on the sockliner, and of course, the Air Max unit in the heel.
The waffle rubber outsole comes in a mix of White; with portions of Black on the toe and Blue on the Air Max foam carrier.
Expected to be a banger because of its “Atlantic Blue” tribute, stay tuned for this pair’s release later this year. Due to the immense hype surrounding OG comebacks of Air Max 97 colourways, we can hope that Nike brings more surprises. This is just a start for more fire colourways!
