One of the most anticipated Air Jordan retros of the year finally lands in 2022! The Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Georgetown” may not be an original colourway, but it’s still a fire pair for most. Taking inspiration from the rare Air Jordan 1 “Georgetown Hoyas” sample from 1985; this pair arrives in the original high-cut build with vintage design cues such as the tongue.
There are only about a handful of Air Jordan 1 ’85 colourways since re-release. And it makes them even worth copping due to the limited quantities available. This J1 High 85′ “Georgetown” brings back the OG vibes of the first Air Jordan silhouette inspired by the 1985 unreleased sample.
Originally released in 1985, the Nike Air Jordan 1 transcended beyond basketball the same way Michael Jordan eclipsed cultures. His stellar rookie season paved the way for literally everything that involves his name; most especially his signature Air Jordan 1 basketball shoes.
Featuring a leather upper, the Air Jordan 1 highlights MJ signature details on the ankle collar with the WINGS logo. While the earlier pairs showed Nike Air, modern Air Jordan 1 releases utilised a Jumpman logo either on the tongue or on the heel pane.
The rubber cupsole hides a Nike Air unit in the heel for added cushioning. While a concentric traction pattern on the outsole provides consistent grip.
The Air Jordan 1 High ’85 edition takes the original form of the shoe; which has a higher cut than the usual.
This Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Georgetown” arrives in a Grey leather base with Midnight Navy overlays resembling the Georgetown Hoyas school colours. A yellowish tongue adds a touch of vintage to the shoe, as well as an old-school shoe box.
Keep an eye out for an official release in early March 2022.
