We’ll never get tired of the Air Jordan 1, and that’s a fact. Introducing a brand new colour scheme seemed like clockwork for Jordan Brand, bringing various backstories as to how the colours brought meaning.
For the brand’s Spring 2022 lineup, the Air Jordan 1 High “Brotherhood” joins the stacked roster of early Air Jordan signature models. Air Jordan Retros such as the 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 will appear in new makeovers. While the return of the Air Jordan 12 “Playoffs” and a new Air Jordan 13 complete the latter Air Jordans.
The Air Jordan 1, as we all know it, is Michael Jordan’s first signature basketball shoe. Designed by Peter Moore, the J1 took design cues from other Nike hoops shoes during the time. A leather upper and nylon tongue usually make up the Air Jordan 1, but other fabrics like suede, patent leather, and even Flyknit also made their appearances.
The thick rubber cupsole hides an encapsulated Air unit in the heel. Underneath is the outsole featuring concentric patterns and stars – providing the best traction you could ever experience.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG Retro “Brotherhood” boasts University Gold and Light Bordeaux pigments. These colours represent the Omega Psi Phi fraternity which Michael Jordan joined back when he was in the University of North Carolina.
Light Bordeaux adorns the toe, eyestay, laces, Swoosh, Wings, and upper lining. While vibrant University Gold complete the vamp, heel, ankle collar, and outsole.
Its bright approach is similar to the Air Jordan 1 High “Light Fusion Red” from 2021. But one thing is for sure, these are total attention-grabbing colourways.
Expect an early 2022 launch of this heat sneaker.
