A new Black, Red, and White colour combination arrives on an Air Jordan 1. No, this isn’t the Chicago, Bred, and Black Toe. But rather a switch of colours took place, switching the Red and Black on the Black Toe for a change. This Air Jordan 1 Low “Gym Red Black” moves the Red pigments upfront while giving the Black panels the backseat. Turning the Swoosh Red feels so new to us!

Just like the Highs (and select styles of the Mid), the Air Jordan 1 is also abundant in terms of hype. Brand new colourways such as this one put a twist on beloved renditions popularised in the 80s. This “Gym Red” variation reworks the “Black Toe” and incorporates a reverse card between Black and Red.

The Air Jordan 1 came out in 1985 and nothing was the same ever since. With Michael Jordan showcasing his stellar basketball prowess during his rookie season, all eyes were on his sneakers. The shoe with Swoosh on the sides and wings on the collar turned out to be one of the most iconic trainers of all time after going beyond basketball.

Air Jordan 1s arrived in High, Mid, and Low versions. The Lows put the Wings logo on the heel for brand placement.

This Air Jordan 1 Low “Gym Red Black” features a White leather base with Gym Red overlays on the front and midfoot panels. Red pebbled leather textures on the Swoosh gave the colourway a premium look. Black adorns the collar and heel panel.

Fans called this the Reverse Black Toe because of the colour switch.

Keep an eye out for this pair’s official release in June 2022 on Nike.
