Jordan Brand always got something special going on every time there are new ideas for colourways. Just take a look at this special Air Jordan 1 Low “Diamond”; at first, you’d probably think it gives off “Barons” vibes as a nod to Jordan’s baseball career. But the design on the tongue isn’t referring to baseball diamonds, it’s actually a tribute to one of the most popular Jordan shorts; the Jordan Jumpman Diamond Shorts.
You already know that everyone’s going to pair up these fire Jordan 1 Low with the diamond shorts. The simple Black and White build-up on the upper works so well with just about every outfit you have in mind. It’s a great addition to the usual sneaker rotation. If you haven’t heard yet, the Air Jordan 1 Mid has a “Diamond Shorts” edition of its own.
Introduced in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 was the first signature basketball shoe of the GOAT Michael Jordan. Air refers not only to his stellar high-flying playstyle; there’s a literal Air unit hidden within the heel cupsole for decent cushioning. Hence the Air Jordan moniker.
As new models arrived and advanced sneaker tech prevailed, the Air Jordan 1 moved on to streetwear and skateboarding. This led to another surge in popularity of the revolutionary shoe designed by Peter Moore.
This Air Jordan 1 Low SE “Diamond” arrives in a classic two-tone colour blocking. Black nubuck upper dominates most of the body, while white covers the vamp, heel, and Swoosh. Jumpman Diamond Shorts references appear on the tongue.
Usual Jumpman Wings motifs adorn the heel panel.
A semi-translucent rubber outsole completes the design of this shoe.
Keep an eye out for an official release in February 2022. Definitely a highly-touted release this early in the year just because of the colourway alone.
