As explosive as ever! We’re five sneakers deep into Los Angeles Lakers superstar Russell Westbrook signature silhouettes with Jordan Brand. And this time, his hoops shoe is anything but normal – just like every single Why Not Zer0 sneaker before. The Air Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 “Amethyst / Blue / Orange” looks like an OKC Thunder PE colourway with hints of Light Purple.

One thing about Russ is that his fashion sense is unmatched. His bold and sophisticated NBA tunnel outfits only he could pull off proves Westbrook’s unique approach to many things. That’s why Jordan Brand took Brodie’s design and performance insights to life with his signature creps.

Crazy patterns, jagged lines, and multiple overlays make up most of Why Not Zer0 silhouettes. The Air Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 retains this theme, now added with lace straps for an improved fit. Jordan and Westbrook signature logos appear on the rear, as well as the tongue.

One of the unique details found on this shoe is the thick and padded tongue – reminiscent of the Air Jordan 5.

This new model seems like a fusion between the second and third renditions. The upper construction is highly similar to the 3, while the decoupled midsole shows glances of the second Why Not Zer0. Nevertheless, Jordan Brand managed to keep things different this time around.

What appears to be an injected Phylon midsole provides soft step-in cushioning and impact protection. An “Air Zoom” label on the forefoot area signals another Zoom Air setup. We’re not sure how it’s implemented yet, but it’s surely going to make you feel explosive.

The decoupled midsole is separated by a plastic midfoot shank. Multidirectional nubs on the outsole provide consistent grip on the hardwood floors.

This Air Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 “Amethyst / Blue / Orange” appears in a Light Lilac translucent mesh upper with hints of Blue and Orange on most panels. Take out the purple and it’s an OKC edition colourway.

Expect more colourways to roll out as Jordan Brand and Russell Westbrook debut the new model in 2022. Hoopers will get another good option for a basketball shoe.
