Nike TN Air Max Plus (Tuned 1) "Shattered Ice" DO6384-400

Aqua vibes all around! The Nike TN Air Max Plus “Shattered Ice” displays a graphic print all over the upper for an icy blue finish. Nike never ceases to find more ways to keep us thrilled with the Tuned 1.

A staple lifestyle option first intended for performance running; the Nike TN Air Max Plus built a culture of its own when it headlined the brand’s Tuned Air technology in 1998. Tuned Air Max improved on support and stability. Decades since the shoe first launched, it’s back in Nike’s Sportswear collection.

The Air Max Plus, or Tuned 1,  was a revolutionary trainer during its introduction. It’s just one of the experimental sneaker technologies in the late 90s that quickly bloomed in the sneaker community. And it flourished even years later.

The blow-moulded Air units on the Air Max Plus feature rubber hemispheres for added support and durability. Even with the added materials, you still get consistent comfort right from step-in. Nike also managed to combine breathable mesh and TPU overlays on the upper for a reinforced yet lightweight ride.

Inspired by beach life in modern cities, the Nike TN Air Max Plus features wavy TPU strips that pay homage to palm trees and ocean waves. They act as an external cage and are strategically placed throughout the upper. Graphic prints in this colourway add a modern finish.

Yellow Nike “TN” logos on the heel and tongue add a distinct detail to the shoe. Mini Swoosh logos on the sides complete the sleek approach.

The plastic toe and leather mudguard bring more durability to the shoe. The foam midsole houses the two visible Tuned Air Max units decoupled by a rigid TPU arch inspired by a whale’s tail. A gradient fade from Midnight Navy to White sticks to the popular effect that the Tuned 1 popularised.

Finishing it off is the modified waffle traction pattern for consistent grip.

This Nike TN Air Max Plus (Tuned 1) “Shattered Ice” features a graphic print comprised of Midnight Navy, White, and Black accents on the mesh upper. The blending of the hues forms a lighter shade of blue that hides the semi-translucent TPU strips. Midnight Navy and White pigments complete the rest of the shoe.

Expect an early December 2021 release on the Nike website and other select retailers worldwide.
