Japanese streetwear and jewellery brand AMBUSH joins forces with Nike once again for another batch of AF1 Lows. Founder Yoon Ahn shared previews months ago, but now we finally have an official release date! This AMBUSH x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Black Phantom” flaunts an all-black makeover with oversized Swoosh logos and AMBUSH labels. If you’re a fan of any past AMBUSH x Nike releases, then you’ll be happy with this pair.
After the successful campaign of AMBUSH x Nike Dunk Highs, Yoon Ahn went on to utilise AF1 Lows. The large rubber Swooshes and AMBUSH labels make their way to another Nike icon. This is the classic AF1 with subtle updates!
A timeless classic, that’s what people usually call the Nike Air Force 1. It’s extremely popular with a lot of people, especially those who are starting to become sneakerheads. But long ago, the AF1 landed in the market as a basketball shoe.
Nike introduced the Nike Air Force 1 in 1982 as the first basketball shoe with Nike Air technology. Almost running full-length, the Air unit comes encased in rubber, making it durable.
The AF1 eventually took a break in 1984 to give way to other basketball styles. But thanks to the persistent call from fans, the Nike Air Force 1 returned in 1986, and everything else is history.
The AMBUSH x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Black Phantom” features a Black construction with Phantom rubber Swooshes. Large AF1 lace dubraes stand out on the forefoot while AMBUSH labels adorn the tongue, heel, and sockliner.
This is definitely one of the cleanest pairs in the roster along with its Phantom counterpart.
