An underrated classic Nike casual shoe revisited. The Nike Bedouin first arrived in the 1980s. Suited for a more casual look, its mocassin-inspired style still utilized Nike’s finest tech during the 80s. Now back in a different form in 2021, this Nike BE-DO-WIN “Hyper Royal” is a colourful and modern twist to the original Nike Bedouin.

A testament to Nike’s wide range of footwear is the Nike Bedouin. For a brand that focused on sports performance trainers, the Bedouin’s release was quite a surprise. Its full-grain leather construction made this mocassin shoe perfect for formal events. But the thing is, the shoe also packed a lot of sneaker technology. Housed within the polyurethane midsole is an Air-Sole unit that provides cushioning for all-day comfort.

Aside from the full-grain leather and the Nike Air, the Bedouin also boasted an Octowaffle traction pattern for consistent grip during your lifestyle routines.

The new Nike BE-DO-WIN is a direct homage to the classic Bedouin. BE-DO-WIN stands for the environmental phrase: “Be conscious of climate change, Do take action against climate change, Win the battle to prevent the climate change.” And with this, the shoe promotes the use of recycled and more sustainable content. Although not officially part of Nike’s “Move to Zero” campaign, it seems like the BE-DO-WIN is still here to catch people’s attention.

Synthetic materials make up the upper of the shoe. While it’s finished off with a cork insole and a sole that appears in a rather “rocky” build-up.

A colourful BE-DO-WIN symbol on the heel goes along well with the “Hyper Royal” colourway.

The Nike BE-DO-WIN “Hyper Royal” features colourful hits of Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and Navy Blue. Mesh make up the base, while suede overlays reinforce the modern mocassin.

Because of the vintage inspiration, the foam sole comes with a yellowing effect.

It’s set to release on the Nike website on the second week of October 2021.
