Air Jordan 1 Mid SE "Barcelona Sweater / Chile Red"

A throwback to the legendary 1992 Dream Team in the Barcelona Olympics! This shiny Air Jordan 1 Mid “Chile Red” pays homage to an outfit that only Michael Jordan could pull off.

The sneaker world changed with the arrival of the Air Jordan 1 in 1985. The Air Jordan 1 was the first signature on-court model of none other than Michael Jordan. With design cues from earlier Nike hoops silhouettes, designer Peter Moore added details to the Air Jordan 1 to make it look like no other.

Plenty of skateboarders also rock the Air Jordan 1; partly because of its style, but mostly because of the supportive ankle collar and thick rubber sole. Essential features to prevent injuries whilst taking part in outdoor sports.

The Air Jordan 1 features a leather body that varies per colourway. There are also three versions of the model. The original Highs are usually the most popular, while the Mids feature a lower ankle collar and are generally widely available. The Low is a great option for those who prefer a less-restrictive J1.

A thick rubber cupsole houses an Air unit in the heel for slight cushioning. Underneath the sole is the concentric traction pattern with stars on the front section, exactly the same pattern found on the Nike Dunk.

This new Air Jordan 1 Mid SE (Special Edition) “Chile Red” is reminiscent of Michael Jordan’s short-sleeve sweater + shorts combination in Barcelona. The outfit featured colourful patterns of horizontal zig-zags. With a White leather base and Chile Red patent leather overlays, the Barcelona Sweater imprint adorns the ankle collar.

An icy translucent sole adds more luxury to the already-fresh colour scheme.

Expect a November 2021 launch on the Nike website and select retailers worldwide.
