The AF1 takes a trip to London in this new rendition. Joining the “Berlin” and “Paris” colourways is this Nike Air Force 1 Mid “London”; headlined by a mix of premium upper materials as a nod to the unique fashion statement of the UK capital. Each emerging pair from the AF1 “City Pack” poses a signature detail of its own – and we’re sure there are more to come!

Nothing is stopping Nike’s blazing momentum for the year thanks to the milestones and anniversaries of the brand’s icons. March saw the 35th anniversary of Air Max technology as Nike put out “Air Max Day” edition trainers. Another celebration emerges as the 80s hoops classic Nike Air Force 1 turns 40 in 2022.

The Nike Air Force 1’s story began in 1982, as Bruce Kilgore designed a new basketball shoe with a tech never first used on runners. Nike Air technology made its debut on a hoops shoe in the AF1; and it changed the sneaker game forever.

A 3/4 length air bag embedded within a thick rubber midsole provided enough cushioning and comfort for all-day activities. Because of the surprising comfort it brought, the Nike AF1 became a staple footwear choice of many; even beyond performance sports.

As a special edition colourway, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid “London” incorporates a Beige perforated leather base. Pebbled leather overlays in Burgundy boast white Swoosh logos and a “020” label pertaining to the city’s area code. The rectangular metallic lace dubrae also stands out and poses a completely different shape than the usual.

A Beige midsole and a Burgundy outsole finish off this fresh makeover.

Because it’s part of Nike’s “City Pack”, expect an official release in late April 2022 as Nike rolls out more AF1 colourways.
