With the immense popularity of the OG Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Sport Red”, we now have the next confirmed colourway. This may not be an OG colourway but the style is welcome to many Air Max fans. The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Smokey Mauve” lands with different shades of brown to change things up. Neutral colourways like this one always works well for most outfits!

Nike bringing back the original shape of the Air Max 1 with the big bubble revolutionised the sneaker world. While the brand eventually compromised the size of the Air unit, we now see the OG ’86 release back in its full glory. This is the first of four expected colourways dropping after the “Sport Red” from Air Max Day 2023.

When it comes to sneaker icons, the Nike Air Max 1 is always part of the conversation. This iconic design by Tinker Hatfield became the pioneer Air Max design and set the standard for Air Max.

Intended for performance running, the AM1 features a mesh base with midfoot overlays usually in leather or suede. The mudguard also varies in material depending on the colourway.

A PU foam midsole houses an Air unit in the forefoot and a visible Air bubble in the heel.

This Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Smokey Mauve” features a white mesh base with smokey mauve suede overlays. The upcoming release marks the second Air Max 1 ’86 colourway following the OG “Sport Red” from March 2023.

This is definitely going to be a popular shoe for those who missed out on previous Air Max 1s.
