Nike Air Max 1 x Kasina Won-Ang "Orange" DQ8475-800

We will get not just one but all two colourways of the special collab between Nike and Kasina. Meant to be matching pairs just like Mandarin ducks, this Air Max 1 colourway celebrates 25 years of Kasina. The Nike Air Max 1 x Kasina Won-Ang “Orange” joins the “Particle Grey” counterpart to mimic colours of Mandarin ducks. These ducks love their partners for life and became the inspiration for the “Made To Be Together” theme of this collab.

It’s only fitting that Kasina utilised the Nike Air Max 1 for the Korean streetwear brand’s 25th anniversary. The iconic model is also celebrating its 35th year in the market. Both cultures collide and resulted in this special-edition colourway inspired by colourful Mandarin ducks. Expected to be a South Korea exclusive release, we now also have a confirmed UK launch date this June 2022!

Air Max technology’s origin story began in 1987, at a time when Nike wants to maximise Air’s true potential. Tinker Hatfield sought the idea of clearing a portion of the midsole and exposing the Air bubble. This new design then became a hit as it was never seen before, further revolutionising the brand’s reputation when it comes to running trainers. With the bubble exposed and visible, there was less compression and more impact protection!

The Nike Air Max 1 x Kasina Won-Ang “Orange” celebrates 35 years of Air Max and 25 years of Kasina with a special collab. Dark Red leather makes up the vamp area, with a fuzzy suede Orange and Red mudguard. Blue and Blue-Green adorn the suede and faux pony hair panels on the midfoot and heel; mimicking the hues found on colourful male Mandarin ducks.

This makeover is the counterpart to the “Particle Grey” rendition – which matches the female Mandarin ducks.

Korean characters on the tongue and wooden lace dubrae add to the special details on the shoe. An embroidered Mandarin duck character appears on the heel panel.

An icy translucent sole with colourful Mandarin duck graphics finishes off the design.
