As iconic as it gets, Nike may never stop introducing new colourways of the beloved Nike Air Max 90. Arriving with an old-school look, this Air Max 90 SE features a combination of two different upper materials to keep your style fresh no matter the season.
The Nike Air Max 90 first came out in 1990 as the Nike Air Max III. Marketed as a runner, the shoe went on to revolutionize the way we see sneakers with Nike’s Air Max technology. The brand’s trademarked cushioning system highlights a thick Air unit that is exposed on the midsole and provides maximum comfort and impact protection.
Now back for more flavours than ever before, Nike has placed the Air Max 90 as one of their best-selling silhouettes in the lifestyle category.
Part of the celebratory “First Use” pack, this Nike Air Max 90 joins other classic Nike models to pay tribute to the Swoosh logo’s creation. An outlined Swoosh on the medial side is accompanied by the date June 18, 1971, when the Swoosh was first used. The Swoosh was designed by university student Carolyn Davidson who was commissioned by Nike co-founder Phil Knight to create a logo for the brand.
This colourway appears in a mix of light and darker tones of Sail with Cream accents on the TPU overlays. Green interior lining, Air Max pillars, and heel labels gave the shoe a completely new look.
The base of the shoe uses a typical mesh fabric, while the rest of the mudguard showcases two tones of suede. A leather Swoosh goes along with the rest of the suede overlays to give a premium finish. Cream White TPU eyestays add a vintage look to the popular Air Max model. The tongue features a classic “Nike” label with an orange Swoosh underneath which replaces the typical “Nike Air Max” tag on most AM90 models.
A Sail White TPU stabilizer wing on the midsole banners the visible Air Max unit. The waffle traction outsole combines a light and dark shade of brown to complete the old-school vibe of the colourway.
Released halfway through 2021, this Nike Air Max 90 SE “First Use” was released as part of a larger collection.
