The Nike Air Max 90 “Ultramarine” taps into one of Nike’s most loved colour stories and reworks it onto a timeless silhouette. At first glance, it feels familiar. Look closer, and there’s more going on beneath the surface.

This version borrows heavily from the Air Max 180 “Ultramarine.” You get that same mix of white, light grey, and bold blue, paired with sharp hits of red that bring the whole shoe to life. It’s a colour combo that always works. Clean base. Bright accents. Easy win.

The materials switch things up. Instead of sticking to the usual Air Max 90 build, Nike brings in elements inspired by the 180. Suede panels replace some of the expected finishes, adding a softer, slightly more textured feel. The mesh also takes cues from the 180, appearing across key sections of the upper and giving the shoe a different kind of breathability.

Underfoot, the DNA stays intact. The classic Waffle outsole provides grip, while the visible Max Air unit in the heel keeps comfort on point. It’s the same cushioning setup that made the Air Max 90 a go-to for daily wear back in the day, and it still holds up now.

Small details round things off. The heel branding shifts to embroidered Nike Air, moving away from the usual rigid badge and leaning into a more refined finish.
