Nike Air Max 97 "Black Neon" DZ4497-001

This Air Max 97 borrows a popular colour combination from another iconic Air Max model! While it doesn’t follow the exact colours used on the Air Max 95 “Neon” the vibrant bubble will always stand out. The Nike Air Max 97 “Black Neon” joins the eye-catching Neon collection comprised of Air Max models through the years. This is also a great addition to Halloween kicks to spice up the last few months of 2022!

As we close out this year filled with milestones, Nike brings new colourways to the Air Max 97. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2022, we can expect even more surprises to top off this one! And we can’t wait for it!

1997 saw the birth of a Nike Air Max icon called the Nike Air Max 97. Designed by Christian Tresser, the shoe took design inspiration from both nature and technology. Water ripples became the main aesthetic of the upper, while Japanese bullet trains supposedly resemble the shoe’s sleek construction.

First for Nike is the hidden eyestay lacing setup and the full-length Air Max unit. This makes up for an insanely bouncy and comfortable ride not felt on any Air Max during its time.

Bill Bowerman’s innovative waffle outsole makes its return to the modern running-turned-lifestyle sneaker.

This Nike Air Max 97 “Black Neon” features a Dark Grey leather upper with Black wavy panel overlays. The Swoosh on the sides comes in Metallic Silver, but the rest of the logos found on the tongue and heel tab appear in Neon Volt.

The main highlight of the shoe is the full-length air bubble in Neon Volt, this gives the shoe a vibrant finish.
