To continue the 30th anniversary of the Air Max BW, Nike unveils the “City Pack” for worldwide festivities. This Nike Air Max BW “Beijing” colourway flaunts fancy Chinese characters to showcase the city’s pride.
Following the return of the OG “Persian Violet” colourway, the upcoming City Pack will feature a wide array of colours.
First introduced in 1991, the Nike Air Max BW succeeded the iconic Nike Air Max 90. Nike brought back the familiar sole unit, but the Air Max BW boasted an even larger window to make visible Air unit in the heel even more visible. The BW stands for “Big Window”.
Cruising to a similar journey just like other Air Max silhouettes, the shoe entered the sneaker scene as a staple option for runners. But this underrated shoe also became a fan-favourite lifestyle kick in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Featuring lightweight mesh, suede, and leather overlays, the Air Max BW “Beijing” also has a rigid heel counter for maximum support. Black hues dominate the upper of the sneaker and are accompanied by hints of brown and white. “Beijing” labels adorn the heel panel as well as the tongue on the left pair.
Golden lace dubraes showcase “1991” on the right pair and “2021” on the left, referring to the model’s 30th anniversary.
The contoured and padded heel counter and ankle collar hug the ankle and the heel comfortably. Providing a secure yet unrestrictive fit. Brown Swoosh logos on the sides keep up with the Black and Brown makeover of the shoe.
The decoupled outsole features the classic waffle traction pattern on the forefoot. A cored-out midsection on the outsole provides torsional support and reduces the overall weight.
Part of the Nike Air Max BW City Pack, the “Beijing” rendition is expected to release in October 2021.
