The Nike Air Max footwear line continues to amaze in more ways than one as new setups emerge. These new Air Max cushioning implementations began with this year’s Nike Air Max Pre Day and Nike Air Max 2021 models. This new Nike Air Max Dawn fills in another spot in that promising roster.
The Nike Air Max Dawn features a lightweight mesh base underlay and suede overlays on key areas. The design ethos put the usual build of Nike’s classic running trainers to mind. Vintage designs are seen all throughout in this model; the old-school “nike” labels on the tongue; sockliner, and the pull tabs offer a lot of nostalgia for runners. Nike Swoosh logos on the sides appear in a thinner finish than the Air Max Pre Day.
Going to the cushioning, a soft foam midsole houses a slightly exposed visible Air Max unit in the heel. Think you’ve seen this before? It’s because the setup here uses the same Air unit as the Air Max Pre Day, except there’s foam on the heel; leaving only the front part of the airbag exposed. A thin plastic heel clip provides minimal support and stability.
Completing the design of the new Air Max model is the rubber outsole flaunting a wavy traction pattern. It’s basically herringbone but with wider and bigger flex grooves.
This Nike Air Max Dawn “Black / Metallic Silver” combines a Black mesh base upper with Sail White accents on the suede Swoosh and the tongue. A clean and classic build-up that will never fail you.
Expect a December 2021 release as Nike continues to roll out more colourways of the shoe.
