Nike’s Tuned Air technology is one of the most advanced in the sneaker industry. As the Swoosh brand explores more possibilities for Air Max, they also found a way to level it up even more. That’s what makes Nike Air a revolutionary piece of sneaker tech. Unlike foam-based cushioning systems, Air can take on a lot of forms and shapes for the best impact protection possible.

Tuned Air debuted in 1998 with the release of the Nike Air Max Plus. Tuned Air bags utilise rubber hemispheres within the bags for increased support and overall durability. This makes up for a well-cushioned ride without compromising on stability.

The Nike Air Max Plus 3, or Tuned 3 for short, is the third installment in the Tuned Air footwear line. And just like its predecessors, it’s comprised of mesh, TPU overlays, and an extremely supportive midfoot shank.

The midfoot shank also serves as the heel counter, pretty futuristic if you ask just about everyone. Bridging the midfoot shank are the Tuned Air units in the forefoot and heel. Waffle traction patterns return in the outsole.

The Nike Air Max Plus 3 “Light Bone / Black” features a Light Bone mesh upper with TPU and synthetic leather reinforcements. Yellow hues adorn the mini Swoosh, Air pillars, and the TN logos. Black makes up most of the entire midsole and the outsole.

Expect a 2022 release on this heat pair of the Tuned Air Max trainer.
