Nike Air Max Plus (Tuned 1) "Black Metallic Silver" DX8971-001

This fantastic new colourway of the Nike Tuned 1 rocks Metallic Silver hues with repeated Swooshes. Various Nike models set to drop this August 2022 also appeared in this colour combination. It seems to be an unofficial pack dropping at the height of the summer season. The Nike Air Max Plus “Black Metallic Silver” goes for a clean finish headlined by shiny Metallic Silver Swooshes and reflective panels.

While summer shoes usually come in White, this Black Metallic Silver rendition still stands out with its stealthy approach. The Air Max Plus takes on another premium makeover because of impressive colourways like this one!

In 1998, the already advanced Air Max technology got even better with the arrival of Tuned Air. Reinforced with rubber hemispheres, Tuned Air units provided more support and stability without removing the beloved bounce and cushioning. Debuting on the Nike Air Max Plus, also called Tuned 1, this upgraded cushioning technology instantly became a fan favourite.

Inspired by wavy trees during a beach trip, designer Sean McDowell incorporated his sketches to create the Air Max Plus. Wavy TPU fingers on the mesh upper reinforce the structure of the low-cut shoe; a large midfoot shank mimics the shape of a whale’s tail for torsional support.

Tuned Air Max units appear on the forefoot and heel for maximum cushioning.

This Nike Air Max Plus (Tuned 1) “Black Metallic Silver” features an all-Black upper with Metallic Silver Swooshes. Mini Swooshes appear on the heel, just a little underneath the Yellow TN logos.

The Silver tabs across the laces and the tongue boast reflective materials, allowing the repeated Nike Swoosh patterns to stand out.
