Nike Air Max TW 1 "Frank Rudy" DV1232-100

It seems like every month we keep getting more and more Air Max models in honour of scientist Frank Rudy. It’s just right knowing that this man made Nike Air possible after a long process of testing and experimentation. The Nike Air Max TW 1 “Frank Rudy” joins the Frank Rudy Collection as one of the newcomers. This new model enters the modern sneaker era with its hybrid design.

The Nike Air Max Day 2023 is now in full swing with all these awesome Air Max releases. While the Frank Rudy collection is not really part of Air Max Day 2023, it’s a nice addition to the release calendar. There are a lot of nice details on this shoe!

In recent years, Nike kinda slowed down on creating hybrid designs and decided to introduce fresh styles instead. However, the new Nike Air Max TW proved otherwise. Introduced in 2022, the Air Max TW is a combination of the Air Max Plus and Air Max Tailwind.

The shoe features a textile upper with arrow-like waves on the sides which resembles the aesthetics of both models.

The biggest highlight of the shoe is the midsole. In front, the standard Phylon midsole provides soft cushioning. The heel is where things get interesting. A large honeycomb Nike Air Max unit features a Cushlon foam sitting atop the bubble. This gives maximum cushioning and impact protection.

The Nike Air Max TW 1 “Frank Rudy” arrives in a White textile base with Tan suede overlays on the toe and collar. Hints of Blue and Yellow make up the tongue, lace loops, heel Air unit, and Cushlon midsole.

Pressure meter hang tags pay homage to the origin of Nike Air, while the blueprint insole features the Air Max 1 silhouette.
