New Air Max models usually get less attention than the icons such as the AM90, 95, and 97. However, the new Air Max TW hybrid looks intriguing as Nike combined the Tailwind and Air Max Plus. Multiple cushioning systems highlight the innovative technology of Nike from the late 90s.

The Nike Air Max TW is a brand new Air Max model inspired by two Air Max icons from the late 90s. Distinct design aspects of the Air Max Tailwind and Air Max Plus combined to form this modern Air Max shoe.

Mesh makes up the upper of the Air Max TW. Textile and leather overlays placed on the toe and rear reinforce the lightweight construction. Aggressive wavy lines comprise the sides as a nod to the Air Max Tailwind.

The visible Honeycomb Air Max unit appears on the heel. Above, a Cushlon heel pad adds more response and impact protection.

This Nike Air Max TW “Black University Blue” features a Black makeover with hints of University Blue. UNC-inspired tones adorn the brand labels and interior lining.

The new colourway will release in February 2023 on the Nike UK website. It’s worth trying for the comfort alone!
