The Air Pegasus 83‘s 40th anniversary might still be months away, but there’s nothing wrong with celebrating this early in 2022. This model came a long way, but still, a pretty consistent running footwear series to this day. With 39 models as of 2022, nothing is stopping the Nike Air Pegasus.

First released in 1983, the Nike Air Pegasus is one of the most serious running performance sneakers from the Swoosh. Every year, new enhancements and design improvements got a lot of people curious about how the shoe feels when running. Built for speed, the Nike Air Pegasus 83 is a low-cut trainer made with a nylon base. Leather and suede reinforce the shoe for long-lasting durability.

Encased within the sponge foam midsole is a small Nike Air unit, located in the heel. Underneath, the iconic waffle sole by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman provides a consistent grip.

This Nike Air Pegasus 83 “Double Swoosh Blue” celebrates the upcoming 40th anniversary of the Pegasus line in 2023. White nylon makes up the base of the upper, while Blue pebbled leather overlays comprise the toe, eyestay, and heel. Light Blue pigments make up the upper heel panel and the Swoosh; where a darker Blue Swoosh is overlapped underneath.

83 branding on the tongue recognises the OG Pegasus silhouette.
