Following the arrival of its updated version; the long-awaited comeback of an OG is finally here! An all-around shoe that’s as versatile as its good looks; the Nike Air Trainer 1 Mid arrives in its most popular colourway – the White, Green, and Black or more commonly known as “Chlorophyll”. This shoe now goes beyond various sports and now revolves around Nike’s lifestyle catalogue.

Nothing beats an original. And no colourway will be better than this Nike Air Trainer 1 Mid OG “Chlorophyll”. First designed by Tinker Hatfield for the gym and the court is now also relevant in streetwear. Quite an exciting release especially for anybody who witnessed it the first time.

Introduced in 1987, the Nike Air Trainer 1 is the brand’s first cross-training shoe that unexpectedly made its debut in tennis thanks to a fired-up John McEnroe. Proving to be effective in various fields, the shoe continued to rise in popularity.

The Nike Air Trainer 1 features a leather base with suede reinforcements on the upper. The midfoot strap pairs along well with the raised lateral outrigger for added stability and support. A padded heel counter prevents heel slips and improves the overall fit of the shoe.

A heel Air unit provides ample cushioning. Underneath, the durable rubber outsole gives a consistent grip suitable for all sports.

The Nike Air Trainer 1 Mid OG “Chlorophyll” returns in OG form. White leather comprises the base, while Grey nubuck panels cover the overlays from heel to toe. The Black strap also sticks true to form, as well as the Green details on the Nike labels and the plastic lace loop.

The “Chlorophyll” colour scheme took inspiration from the gym equipment that Tinker Hatfield uses during his workouts. He said: “The equipment at the gym was black and white with green text. All of the colors the Trainer 1 featured came from gym equipment,”. And the rest is history.

Expect an official release in March 2022 on the Nike website.
