The OG version of the Nike Dunk High appears in a new vintage-inspired colourway with a material update! While Nike Dunk Lows and modern Nike Dunk Highs remain mainstream, the Dunk High ’85 edition slowly climbs the ladder. This Nike Dunk High ’85 “Barely Rose” sticks to the bulky basketball-focused construction for a throwback look. Pink denim overlays are the main highlight of this one!
We can recall the handful of “Acid Wash” Nike Dunk High ’85 colourways. While some find the theme too loud and pretty much out there, the Dunk High ’85 returns in a much more simple makeover. Muted tones of Pink comprise the denim overlays of the shoe.
The Nike Dunk originally came out in 1985 primarily as a basketball shoe. College basketball is the main market of the Nike Dunk as the brand equipped teams with Nike Dunks in their school colours. Later on, the Nike Dunk became a popular pair of shoes for lifestyle purposes.
With its immense popularity, the Nike Dunk returned to its glory back in 2019 thanks to hyped brand collabs. Since then, the Nike Dunk has been at the forefront of every hyped release in different colourways.
The Dunk High ’85 may have released rather sporadically, but the new wave of release may indicate multiple pairs coming in the next few months. This Nike Dunk High ’85 “Barely Rose” features a White leather base with Pink denim overlays. Denim fabrics come stitched in Bright Red hues to stand out even more.
The Sail White midsole adds a vintage touch to the shoe. This feature has been a mainstay on most Dunk High ’85 colourways (with the exception of the all-black Dunk High ’85 x Undercover).
Stay tuned for this release as Nike continues to drop more Dunks before we close out 2022.
