Nike Dunk Low "Vintage Midnight Navy" DD1503-115

Who would’ve thought that even sneakers get better with age? For 2022, Nike brings more twists and turns to the classic hoops shoe Nike Dunk. This Nike Dunk Low “Vintage Midnight Navy” returns in the usual colour blocking but not without an update; the rubber midsoles now come in Sail White for that vintage effect seen on OG pairs from 1985.

If you feel like you’ve seen this exact colourway before, we can’t blame you. This setup already appeared on the Nike Dunk High (except the midsole is still white). Furthermore, it’s highly similar to the Georgetown Dunk Lows from 2021 – but this time replacing the Grey base underlay with crisp White.

For an old-school hoops shoe, it’s inevitable that people will eventually get tired of this shoe. That’s why Nike ensures that more styles of the Nike Dunk release every now and then to keep the popularity coming. The sudden re-emergence of the shoe headlined the return of vintage trainers. Think Air Jordan 1 and its new colourways, they’re just gonna keep them coming throughout the year.

The Nike Dunk features a crisp leather upper, with perforations on the vamp for a breathable feel. Nike Swooshes on the sides and tags on the heel and tongue set the shoe apart from the rest.

A stitched rubber midsole and a concentric rubber outsole complete the bottom half of the shoe.

The 2022 roster of Nike Dunks again looks promising. But some pairs caught our eye. Familiar two-tone colour blocking with “aged” midsoles headline the lineup.

One of those “aged” Nike Dunks is this “Vintage Midnight Navy” rendition. White makes up the underlays while Midnight Navy dominates the rest. A vintage midsole brings a new theme to the shoe – seemingly pertaining to the 1985 original debut of the shoe.

Expect more anticipation as we approach the official release of the Dunk Low Vintage Navy.
