Nike SB Dunk Low Pro "Black Fog"

Nike SB took another colour scheme from the archives for this year-ender Nike SB Dunk Low Pro “Black Fog” release. Inspired by the SB Dunk High Pro “Midnight Fog” from 2005, this low-cut rendition sports similar hues throughout the shoe.

The hoops icon Nike Dunk has a remarkable identity of its own when it comes to the current streetwear trend. It’s now more commonly worn as a lifestyle shoe than a hoops shoe; which is pretty much expected because it’s not up to the standards of today’s basketball selections. Nevertheless, it’s still a staple lifestyle option gracing the sneaker culture – just like the Air Jordan 1 and Air Force 1 to name a few.

An icon everywhere you go, the Nike Dunk also became the footwear of choice by skateboarders. Nike saw the love and appreciation of skateboarders on the Nike Dunk, so they created a new Dunk model just for them. Welcome the Nike SB Dunk.

Following the same design ethos of the 1985 basketball shoe, the 2002 debut of the Nike SB Dunk featured essential updates. These tweaks favoured skaters for a more comfortable ride. The plush tongue hugs the ankle to prevent injuries, while the rubber traction outsole features tightly-spaced grooves for more grip and increased flexibility.

Nike also solved the cushioning that the Nike Dunk never had. This time by adding a plush insole with a Zoom Air unit embedded on the heel. There’s also a crash pad on the forefoot for better impact protection. These few but important additions to the SB Dunk put the model on the spotlight.

This Nike SB Dunk Low Pro “Black Fog” borrows the same colour blocking from the 2005 Nike SB Dunk High. Black suede makes up the upper, while a leather Swoosh in Cool Grey lightens up the design,

A reliable gum rubber outsole completes the shoe.
