Nike TN Air Max Plus Black / Smoke Grey

Following up the introduction of Nike’s Tuned Air Max in 1998 was the release of the Nike TN Air Max Plus. A lot of sneakerheads were curious about this revolutionary cushioning system and were impressed due to the versatility and comfort it provided. It was released in vibrant colourways, and certainly stood out during its time.

Now a staple sneaker, this TN Air Max Plus colourway arrives in a classic Black/Smoke Grey makeover. This version is spattered with yellow accents on the heel.

The Nike Air Max Plus was a futuristic sneaker, way ahead of its time. Alongside the blow-moulded Air units, the Air Max Plus boasts a supportive upper. Nike managed to combine mesh and TPU cage for a lightweight ride.

Said to draw inspiration from beach life in modern cities, the Nike TN Air Max Plus is built with a black airy mesh upper. The wavy TPU fingers pay homage to palm trees and also ocean waves. They’re strategically placed throughout the upper to add structure and support. This colourway sticks to a minimal and stealthy style, in the classic black dress up.

Yellow Nike “TN” logos decorate the heel add some colour to the shoe. This complements the yellow loops on heel of the outsole area, which acts as a window to the Tuned Air unit.

The mixed plastic and leather mudguard adds necessary durability to an everyday lifestyle shoe. A foam midsole houses the Tuned Air Max unit and is decoupled with a TPU arch, this was inspired by a whale’s tail and sets you up with amazing torsional support. Finishing it off is the waffle traction outsole.

Released in July 2021, the Nike TN Air Max Plus “Black/Dark Smoke Grey” is available now.
