Nike Air Vapormax 2021 FK SE "Dark Atomic Teal" DN3074-001

Even the newer Air Max models joined the 35th anniversary celebration of the revolutionary footwear technology. This Nike Air Vapormax 2021 FK SE “Dark Atomic Teal” arrives with an updated Swoosh and diamond details. This is not quite as confusing as the “XXXV” editions found on the Air Max 90 and 97. Air Max Month 2022 is surely going to be lit!

The Nike Air Vapormax continues to release annually – with minor updates for better fit and added durability. Years after it first came out in 2017, the Vapormax remains as one of the most ambitious Air Max innovations yet. It may have been different, but it just shows how Nike’s innovative team never settles on what’s already there.

Introduced in 2016 and officially released in 2017, the Nike Air Vapormax was unlike any Air Max trainer. Sure we had full-length Air since the 97s, but the Vapormax occupied the entire sole unit and functioned as one. Flyknit makes up the sock-like upper, while the Air-sole covers the entire bottom half. Rubber pods on key outsole areas provide traction and add durability to the sole.

The 2021 edition comes with more sustainable content and utilises the same build from the previous year. Except the 2021 version brought back the regular lacing setup as opposed to the FlyEase system.

This Nike Air Vapormax 2021 FK SE “Dark Atomic Teal” adds to the XXXV Diamond theme with a Grey one-piece Flyknit upper. Dark Atomic Teal covers the weave, eyestay, fuse overlays, as well as the two mini Swooshes on the forefoot and midfoot.

A subtle XXXV stitching underneath the top lace loop pays tribute to Air Max technology’s 35th year in existence. A “3JM” and diamond label on the tongue adds more details, these can also be found on the sockliner.

The translucent Vapormax sole features Crater-like rubber portions on the outer forefoot and the heel.

Definitely a worthy addition to the XXXV Air Max collection, check out its release in early March 2022.
