2021 NBA Champion and NBA 75th Anniversary Team member Giannis Antetoukounmpo came a long way to reach his goals. And part of the motivation is his family; that’s why this Nike Zoom Freak 3 “AntetokounBros” pays tribute to the 3 Antetoukounmpos in the NBA namely: Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas. All of which are NBA champions already. Clearly, hard work pays off and the vibrant tones on the shoe bring off joyful vibes (a fitting mood for a champion).

The Nike Zoom Freak 3 is Giannis’ third installment in his signature basketball shoe line. Inspired by design cues from Kobe Bryant’s sneakers, the Zoom Freak boasts supportive features for explosive athletes like Giannis.

Designer Ross Klein returns for the Zoom Freak 3 after leading the design of the two previous models. To create a basketball shoe that can handle fast-paced manoeuvres such as Euro steps and crossovers, Nike focused on containment. The shoe features an engineered textile mesh and a thick TPU midfoot strap for enhanced stability and support.

A visible rubber stabiliser on the lateral side also serves as the window to the two forefoot Zoom Air units with an “air” window on the sides.

Reverse Swooshes on the rear portions are a first for the basketball silhouette, which also adds to the sporty aesthetic.

Giannis’ logo adorns the tongue while his 34 jersey number appears on the heel midsole.

A data-mapped traction pattern inspired by pressures on the footprint provides reliable traction coverage.

This new Nike Zoom Freak 3 “AntetokounBros” features a Navy Blue textile mesh upper with a blue synthetic quarter and a red rear panel. Teal makes up the laces and the tongue, where a logo of three brothers appears on the left pair; with Giannis’ signature logo on the right.

Yellow TPU straps and lateral stabiliser add more vibrance to the popular hoops shoe. A Purple and Blue Green outsole completes the design of this basketball trainer.

Because of its court-ready features, expect more colourways of the Nike Zoom Freak 3 to roll out through the year. Expect an official release of this fire pair in March 2022.
