The late and great Virgil Abloh’s legendary archives make their way back to the market with a new AF1 Mid. This marks the third Nike Air Force 1 Mid SP release since his sudden passing in 2021. Abloh and Off-White’s partnership with the Swoosh brand lives on with all his unreleased works. The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid SP Leather “Pine Green” arrives in a monochromatic Pine Green makeover with signature Off-White branding throughout.
Virgil Abloh is one of the most influential designers of the decade. With hundreds or maybe even thousands of works unreleased, it’s nice to see Nike honour the “The Ten” creator. This then-sample features a new candle-like logo along with the usual Virgil Abloh design and accessories.
The Nike Air Force 1 is one of the best-selling sneakers of the brand. While most colourways are available almost everywhere, the long history of the shoe brought Nike where they are now.
First released in 1982, the Nike AF1 was the brand’s primary basketball shoe in the early 80s. It was the first Nike basketball shoe with Nike Air technology, which runs about 3/4th length inside the rubber sole.
With Nike eventually bringing Low and Mid versions, the AF1 became a top-selling lifestyle shoe in the years to come.
The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid SP Leather “Pine Green” features a Pine Green leather base with White oversized Swooshes. A new embroidered candle logo on the rear indicates that Virgil Abloh still has a lot of unreleased Nike designs. Off-White branding comprises the medial side, while an outer lacing setup keeps the signature details to the max.
The zip tie, wavy midsole, and rubber spikes make up the rest of the shoe.
You can cop this limited pair in March 2023.
