adidas joins forces with Song For The Mute to rework the Superstar 82, delivering a fresh, deconstructed take on the iconic shell-toe silhouette. This limited-edition release, part of the SFTM-005 capsule, coincides with the Sydney-based label’s 15th anniversary in 2025, making it a standout drop for sneaker collectors and streetwear fans alike.
The off-white leather and hairy suede upper introduces an asymmetrical design, giving each panel a slightly different texture. Black leather 3-Stripes and heel tabs provide contrast, while the signature rubber shell toe keeps the old-school basketball DNA intact. Additional details include an SFTM-005 tag on the lateral foxing and co-branded labels on the tongue, sockliner, and heel, reinforcing the high-fashion-meets-streetwear aesthetic.
A rubber cupsole with thick herringbone treads ensures durability and grip, whether worn casually or on the move. Unlike traditional Superstars, this version features a collapsible upper and two extra eyelets extending towards the shell toe, subtly reshaping the classic structure.
Arriving in custom packaging, the Song For The Mute x adidas Superstar 82 “White Black” is set to release at select retailers and adidas online soon. Given its limited availability, expect it to sell out quickly.
