Nike TN Air Max Plus "Triple Black"

Following the introduction of Nike’s Tuned Air Max in 1998 was the release of the Nike TN Air Max Plus. Sneakerheads were curious about this revolutionary cushioning system and many were impressed due to the versatility and comfort of the release. Another selling point was that they also released in vibrant colourways making it a stand out crep.

A staple sneaker even today, this particular TN Air Max Plus colourway arrives in a classic Triple Black arrangement.

The Air Max Plus was a futuristic sneaker, way ahead of its time. Aside from the blow-moulded Air units, the Air Max Plus boasts a super supportive upper. Nike also managed to combine mesh and TPU cage for a lightweight ride.

Drawing inspiration from beach life in modern cities, this Nike TN Air Max Plus is built with a black airy mesh upper. The wavy TPU fingers pay homage to palm trees and the oceans waves. They’re strategically placed throughout the upper to add structure and support. This colourway hits home with a minimal and stealthy style, guaranteed by the all-black dress-up.

Nike “TN” logos on the heel add some nice speckles of colour to the shoe.

The plastic toe and synthetic leather mudguard bring excellent durability, required for a lifestyle shoe like this. A foam midsole houses the  Tuned Air Max unit, decoupled with a TPU arch inspired by a whale’s tail. This section was added to improve torsional support. Finishing off is the waffle traction outsole with hints of black.

Released multiple times over the years, the Nike Air Max Plus “Triple Black” is available on the Nike website and at other select retailers.
