After an indefinite postponement following his controversial Astroworld concert from the previous year, Travis Scott’s Nike collabs are back! The first to receive the postponement is the Nike Air Max 1 Cactus Jack Collection; and we finally get a green light on the first two colourways! This Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 Cactus Jack “Baroque Brown” goes for that signature Brown makeover with complementary hues.

Travis Scott looks to redeem himself after a whirlwind of events in late 2021. And Nike’s ready to give the popular rapper, singer, songwriter another chance; as his collab sneakers finally get a confirmed release. This “Baroque Brown” Travis Scott Air Max 1 is just the first of many expected Air Max 1 colourways.

1987 saw the birth of the Nike Air Max 1. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, Nike dared to expose Nike Air technology for more response and bounce.

The Nike Air Max 1 features a lightweight mesh upper with suede and leather mudguards depending on the colourway.

A thick PU sole houses a visible Air Max unit in the heel. This revolutionised the rest of the Air Max models throughout the 90s.

Bill Bowerman’s iconic waffle sole completes the outsole.

The Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 Cactus Jack “Baroque Brown” features a Gold-coloured mesh base upper with a Baroque Brown mudguard. Wheat suede panels adorn the front, the sides, and the tongue.

Travis Scott’s signature reversed Swoosh adorns the shoe; bead-like textures add to the premium vibe of the shoe. Cactus Jack details also appear on the tongue, heel and sockliner. Red laces and external straps on the midfoot and heel add more vibrance to the shoe.

One unique design feature of this shoe is the opaque heel window. Instead of having a transparent and visible Air unit, Cactus Jack hid the bubble in Cream White paint to match the midsole.

Expect a lot of hype on this trainer because it’s been a while since we last saw a Nike x Travis Scott release.
