The adidas adiZero Goukana is Inspired By a Marathon Icon

After months and months of leaks, teasers, and rumours, the adidas adiZero Goukana is landing just in time for summer. While it may look like just another chunky sneaker, it’s actually a reimagining of the adiZero Adios from 2008 – the mythical racing shoe worn by Haile Gebrselassie when he smashed the marathon world record in Berlin.

Designed by adidas Originals’ LA-based creative team, the Goukana pushes boundaries with a sleek upper and thick Lightstrike sole that perfectly balances form with function. The debut colourway hits hard in bright yellow, a clear nod to that unforgettable adiZero moment from ’08. But this isn’t just a nostalgia piece. Premium suede overlays meet breathable mesh panels, while reflective accents mean you can flex ’em even in low-light conditions.

If you’re wondering what Goukana actually means, it’s actually the word for “luxury” in Japanese. All of this is then packed in a brand new shoebox that was made just for this silhouette.

First landing at UNDEFEATED on May 10th, the adidas adiZero Goukana will then see a wider release August. Let us know if you’ll be adding it to your collection, and be sure to keep it locked for your best chance to secure your size!
