Normcore king Teddy Santis has taken on many, many New Balance silhouettes over the past couple of years. From the 1906R to the 993, the New York City-based creative has worked on them all. But just when you thought he was taking a short break, the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 1000 gets revealed, and it’s exactly what you’d expect from the critically-acclaimed designer.
Revealed in three monochromatic colour options including “Black,” “Grey,” and “White,” each 1000 is crafted from a premium blend of mesh and leather, ensuring the perfect balance between comfort and durability. The “Black” stands out as it’s decked out with glossy patent overlays and translucent details, while the “Grey” and “White” go down a more traditional route with clean panels and external TPU elements.
Co-branding hits the tongue and insole, and along the lateral toe, you’ll find “Aimé” written in a lower case font. The legendary “N” logo graces the sidewalls, and each pair is packed in a limited edition shoebox that comes with an exclusive stainless steel hangtag that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
Not much else is known about the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 1000 collection at this moment in time, but according to our sources, they’ll land sometime within the coming weeks. Stay tuned for the official release date and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
