Back in June 2020, Nike replaced New Balance as the official sponsor of Liverpool F.C. To celebrate their fifth year together, the American sportswear company has unwrapped the Liverpool x Nike Air Max 95, which honours the silhouette’s deep roots in British football culture.
When the Air Max 95 was first introduced in, you guessed it, 1995, it immediately became a cult classic in the UK. With its unique design and iconic colourways, such as the “Neon,” the shoe gained the nickname “110,” which was a nod to its £110 price tag.
Fast forward to today, and the AM95 is still legendary in Great Britain. And with this year marking its 30th birthday, there’s never been a better time to drop a Liverpool-inspired version. Working on top of a black mesh base, the lateral and medial sidewalls are decorated with gradient suede that fades from charcoal to light grey. Fiery red accents hit the eyelets as a nod to LFC’s world-famous palette, and a spicy Swoosh is embroidered around the heel.
Look inside the tongue and you’ll find the Liver Bird stitched into the lining, and flip the footbed around and the classic Air Max label comes complete with a stitched-on “Y.N.W.A.” tag – a reference to the club’s famous anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone. All of this then rests on top of a blacked-out midsole for unrivalled comfort and cushioning wherever you go.
Dropping April 9th, the Liverpool x Nike Air Max 95 will drop in-store and online via Liverpool F.C. JD Sports UK will also be stocking it on the same day. Let us know if you’ll be going for these, and keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
