The New Balance 1906R “Metallic Blue” is a Blast From the Past

Ever since it was brought back to life in 2022, the 1906R has become one of New Balance‘s most popular silhouettes. Over the past two years, the Boston company has been smashing out some ultra-hyped collabs and colourways, and now, they’re adding another one to the list with the New Balance 1906R “Metallic Blue.” Heavily inspired by its Y2K roots, make sure you keep reading to find out everything that you need to know.

Working on top of a beige mesh base, one of the first things that you’ll notice about this sneaker are the “Metallic Blue” overlays that can be found throughout the upper. These are both retro and futuristic at the same time, and it’s the perfect colour and material for this particular silhouette. The “N” logos across the lateral and medial sidewalls are outlined with metal, and they actually form part of the lacing system.

Additional branding makes its way to the tongue, and underfoot, the pre-aged midsole is infused with ABZORB technology. It’s accented with burgundy tones throughout, and it’s lined with a black and yellow N-ERGY rubber outsole, finalising the design.
