The Nike Autumn Edit: The Pieces We’re Wearing Right Now

From burgundy Air Rifts to cosy fleeces and oversized trousers, we’ve been digging through Nike’s autumn collection to find the pieces worth adding to the rotation.

Autumn is all about layering, and this year we’re into deep burgundy, oversized fits and cosy textures. Think checked fleeces, slouchy trousers and putting comfort first.

And at the center of it all? The Air Rift.

A couple of years ago, the Nike Air Rift probably wasn’t on many people’s autumn wishlists. Fast forward to 2026, and you can barely scroll through IG without spotting a pair.

And we’re not just talking about summer.

The return of the OG colourways, the NikeSKIMS collab and, more recently, the pony-hair releases have helped turn one of Nike’s most divisive designs into one of its most talked-about comebacks in 2026.

Aside from Shox It’s arguably one of the brand’s biggest footwear comeback stories in recent years. And with autumn in full swing, their still firmly in the rotation.

But it’s not just the footwear, Nike’s autumn collection has some particularly good clothing in the mix, especially if, like us, burgundy, oversized layers and relaxed trousers are currently taking up a fair bit of wardrobe space.

For our latest look, we went with a burgundy pony-hair Rift, a checked fleece and wide-leg trousers. Three pieces that look great together.

And we’ve picked out another ten Nike favourites further down.

The Air Rift Comeback Needs to Be Studied

First released in 1996, the Air Rift has always been an unusual one. Its split-toe design and sandal-like build aren’t exactly what most people picture when they think of a Nike shoe.

For years, it occupied a fairly niche corner of sneaker culture. Now, with ballet flats and low-profile footwear enjoying their own resurgence, the Rift suddenly makes a lot more sense.

The NikeSKIMS release was particularly significant, bringing major focus to the shoe with the help of Kimmy K’s reinterpretation. Meanwhile, Nike’s pony-hair versions have taken things in another direction entirely.

And we’re particularly into the burgundy pair.

The textured upper gives the shoe a luxe feel, the rich colour makes it surprisingly easy to work into an autumn wardrobe.

There’s also the ongoing socks debate. Should Rifts be worn barefoot, or do socks actually make them look better?

We’re firmly in the socks camp. No negotiation here.

Styling the Air Rift for Autumn.

As much as we’re into the Rifts, the piece we’re arguably most excited about is the checked Nike fleece.

We’ve been seeing plenty of burgundy this season, and we’re not complaining.

The fleece brings several of those shades together in an oversized checked pattern, with a soft, textured finish that feels right for the colder months. And the details are good, too. The silver Swoosh zip pull is a particularly nice touch.

It’s cosy and a piece that is destined to get a lot of wear this season. The relaxed shape works beautifully with the baggy trousers, while the contrasting checks stop the outfit from becoming one big block of burgundy.

It’s probably our favourite clothing pick from the top ten, and the sort of fleece we’d end up wearing constantly through Autumn / Winter.
