The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Alaska” Finally Has a Release Date

It’s been a minute since the sneakerverse was last blessed with an Off-White x Nike sneaker. Ever since the late, great Virgil Abloh passed away at the end of 2021, the collaboration has been taking things slow and steady. But this year is different, because this year marks the 40th anniversary of Jordan Brand, and to celebrate, the duo have reunited for the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Alaska”.

Rumours of the “Alaska” have been making their rounds for a while now. Early reports first popped up at the end of 2023, but after months and months of waiting, nothing came of them. That being said, the hotly anticipated colourway finally has a release date, so grab a pen and paper and jot it down ASAP.

If you feel like you’ve seen the “Alaska” before, that’s because, well… you have. This Air Jordan 1 actually dropped in 2018. Back then, it was nicknamed the “Euro” as it was made exclusively for Europe. Because of its limited numbers, it quickly became one of the most hyped Off-White trainers of all time. Working on top of a lightweight nylon base, it’s overlaid by smooth leather panels throughout for a luxurious look and feel. As if that wasn’t premium enough, the Milanese streetwear label also added a dash of beige suede around the heel.

But because this is an Off-White x Nike creation, they’ve gone all-out with the deconstructed details. The Swoosh is attached to the upper with bright blue stitching, and the collar and tongue is left exposed for an unfinished aesthetic. An icy zip-tie is attached to the lacing system, and underfoot, the legendary “Air” logo is surrounded by quotation marks, bringing a technical vibe that’s synonymous with Abloh. The trainer also comes with three extra sets of laces so you can really make it your own.
