Tyrese Maxey has quickly become one of New Balance Basketball’s biggest stars, and now he’s officially joining the elite ranks of signature athletes. Following months of anticipation and an on-court debut during the 2026 NBA Playoffs, New Balance has officially unveiled the Maxey V1, the Philadelphia 76ers guard’s first-ever signature performance basketball sneaker.

Designed to match Maxey’s explosive style of play, the New Balance Maxey V1 introduces a bold new direction for the brand’s basketball lineup. The low-cut silhouette combines performance-focused engineering with design cues pulled from New Balance’s popular lifestyle catalog.

Wavy overlays inspired by the 9060 flow across the upper and into the sculpted midsole, while the lace system takes subtle inspiration from the 2002, creating a modern look that stands apart from traditional basketball sneakers. The understated branding also gives the model a cleaner aesthetic, relying less on the oversized “N” logo seen on many of the brand’s previous releases.

Underfoot, the Maxey V1 is built for the quickness and agility that have become trademarks of Maxey’s game. A responsive FuelCell midsole delivers lightweight cushioning, while a unique two-piece plate system replaces the conventional full-length setup to provide targeted stability and support. Additional reinforcement through the midfoot and arch helps lock the foot in place during hard cuts, and a multidirectional rubber outsole is designed to maximize traction on the hardwood.

The debut colorway arrives in a sleek combination of black and blue, offering a clean introduction to Maxey’s signature line ahead of more colorways expected throughout the 2026-27 NBA season. The New Balance Maxey V1 will officially release on October 2, 2026 via NewBalance.com and select New Balance Basketball retailers.
